I personally think that this is one of the best views in the Rockies.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> This color comes from the sediment of rocks grinding together underneath the glacier. The fine <a style=\"color: #000000;\" title=\"Powder (substance)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Powder_%28substance%29\">powder<\/a> is then suspended in the water and absorbs and scatters varying colors of <a style=\"color: #000000;\" title=\"Sunlight\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sunlight\">sunlight<\/a>, giving a milky turquoise appearance.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Moraine-Lake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3511\" src=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Moraine-Lake.jpg\" alt=\"4035 Moraine Lake\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Moraine-Lake.jpg 640w, https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Moraine-Lake-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Apparently I&#8217;m not the only one who likes the view.\u00a0 This same scene graced the Canadian 20 dollar bill until all Canadian currency was converted to polymer which was introduced into circulation between November 2011 and November 2013.<a href=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4040-Moraine-Lake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3512\" src=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4040-Moraine-Lake.jpg\" alt=\"4040 Moraine Lake\" width=\"640\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4040-Moraine-Lake.jpg 640w, https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4040-Moraine-Lake-300x152.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<h2>We started seeing some wild life along the roads Here is a black bear out side the bus window:<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Black-Bear.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3510\" src=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Black-Bear.jpg\" alt=\"4035 Black Bear\" width=\"640\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Black-Bear.jpg 640w, https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4035-Black-Bear-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We moved on to Lake Louise and views of the Victoria Glacier.\u00a0 Another beautiful lake which can be viewed from the Chateau Lake Louise. (The head waters of the Bow River.)<\/h2>\n<h2>Our next major stop was at the Icefield Center. Below is the Athabaska Glacier which flows out of the Colombia Icefields way above.<\/h2>\n<h2>Neil parked the bus at the Visitors Center and we took a Park bus and wound up the road on the left to the Ice Explorers\u00a0 parking lot at the edge of the Glacier. According to the guide, the glacier is rapidly retreating. It used\u00a0 to end at the Visitors Center.\u00a0 By 2030 the glacier may have fully retreated to the Icefield &#8211; and be gone!<\/h2>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4075-Athabaska-Glacier-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3592\" src=\"http:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4075-Athabaska-Glacier-1.jpg\" alt=\"4075 Athabaska Glacier\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4075-Athabaska-Glacier-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/prstevens.stonehippo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/4075-Athabaska-Glacier-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<h2>Here is an Ice Explorer creeping along the glacier at 8 MPH.
